How to Become Part of the 5% Successful People in MLM - What Self-Help Books, Etc, Don't Tell You

There are a million books out there, about becoming successful, about self development, about becoming a leader, etc. If you're a Network Marketer, like me, I am sure, you've read several.

Has that though made any change to your income, to you becoming a leader in your field?

In most cases, the answer will be, no.

How come, when there is so much information out there, only about 5% of the people who read it, actually become successful?

It isn't that these people are more intelligent. It isn't that these people had more money to invest. It isn't that these people had anything better than anybody else, but still they made it and the other 95% didn't.

The answer, however funny that may sound, lies in faith and belief in that what you're doing, actually works.

Say you've read this self development book and it tells you to think positive and that you attract the things to you, which you think about. (Law of attraction.)

You think: "That's easy!" And for about three days you think really positive..... What happens then? Nothing happens. Nothing has happened or changed in those few days and so you get a little bit less positive. And another couple of weeks pass and you don't even remember who the writer of this book was.;-)

So maybe you need to read another book, this time about how to become a millionaire? You go ahead and read the book, and it gives you this fantastic tip, that only by putting away a small amount of money every week, you eventually build up a great sum of money and with compound interest, your money over the years builds and builds exponentially.

"That's it", you think. And you put away on a saving account $50 or so, a week. The only thing is, that June was a really bad month and you couldn't pay the $50. And in September it was your daughter's birthday and you wanted to get her that special toy. So, let's just not pay the $50 this month either. And before you know it, you stopped paying into your account, as it wasn't growing fast anyway.

I guess you're still a millionaire; you're still not even close to being successful in anything.

Where lays the problem?

Like I mentioned before, the problem lays in the belief you have. If you were 100% sure that doing these things, were to get you to where you want to go, you would keep them up.

Jeff Olson, the writer of The Slight Edge says something like this about it: Say you decide to read 10 pages a day, of a self development book. Would your life change for the better after just a few days of reading that book? No. Would your life change for the worse, if you didn't read the 10 pages one day? No.

Neither one would have a major influence on your life. But compounded, over a long period of time, the effect of reading the 10 pages each day would change your life for the better and not reading the pages would make you stick to where you are, or worse.

This is a really simple philosophy. It only takes that little bit of discipline, every day, to get you where you want to go, it being successful in business, health, family, etc.

What makes it so hard is that it is sooooo easy not to do these easy simple little things. That's why every time; people don't make it to their goals.

You need to get your philosophy right. When you know, that by doing a certain few things, over and over again, you will reach your goals, you will stick to them. This certainty gets enhanced by the fact that you know, that when you do not do these things, all will turn bad.
